MEET THE TEAM

Dr Amanpreet Singh Sidhu MBBS, FRACGP (Australia)

I am a well rounded GP with a special interest in skin cancer and procedural medicine. I completed my medical degree in Perth. My expertise in surgery is based on my exposure in training and assisting reputable surgeons, both in Australia and New Zealand.

I enjoy the challenges of diagnosing and treating skin cancers. This is reflected in my continual learning to develop and grow as a skin cancer specialist.

Abigail Bandi, Registered Nurse

What is your story?
I was born in Indonesia but grew up here in Perth, graduated with a  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2018. I recently relocated from Melbourne where I was working as a neuro nurse at The Royal Melbourne.

Why skin?
I have always found skin fascinating, the way it heals itself, and realised how important skin reflects out health. My hobby is also researching and shopping for skincare, so I thought why not make it full time.

Favourite skin treatment?
Carbon facial, it cheats the cycle for skin turnover, always feel like my skin is brand new after treatment.

Dr Rajiv Bahu MBBS (UK), MRCGP (UK), FRACGP (Australia)

What is your story?
I was born and raised in the UK where I completed by medical degree and qualified as a GP. I arrived in Perth in 2019 where I am currently practicing as a GP.

Why skin?
I have always been fascinated by how our skin’s appearance relates to our health. It has remarkable healing properties. I am use to providing holistic care as a GP, but having further knowledge and experience in treating skin conditions is a wonderful asset. I have always struggled with ‘combination skin’ as well as hyperpigmentation so helping others in their skin journey is a prospect I look forward to being a part of.

Favourite skin treatment?
Skin microneedling is an amazing and simple procedure that can lead to drastic improvements in multiple skin conditions such as scarring and hyperpigmentation. I love how it encourages the body to heal itself by producing more collagen. Observing the confidence this brings to people is inspiring!

Dr Christabel Samy, MBBS (UK), MRCGP (UK) Fellow (FRACGP), (Australia)

What is your story?
A true blue Aussie GP! I run medical practices in Rockingham & Canning Vale which deliver holistic care. I am passionate about empowering people to take control of their health needs through engagement and education. I’m often described as loud and chatty and can be identified by my love for bright coloured lipstick and high heels…

Why skin?
I’ve seen first hand the damage that our amazing Australian weather can have on our skin health. I’ve also seen the effect that common health problems like acne can have on our self esteem. We have to feel good on the outside and the inside so alongside our amazing team at Skin Hub I’m determined to give people access to a range of skin and cosmetic therapies to have them feeling better.

Favourite skin treatment?
The LED light! It’s non-invasive and targets my skin needs. Having a darker skin tone, pigmentation and scarring can be a real issue. I also love the fast and long-lasting results.

I also highly recommend skin checks. As a beach and sun worshipper, myself, I know how important it is that we get a yearly skin check. I recommend my patients start getting them at 18 and get them done yearly at a skin specialist clinic.

Dr Thishani Kaneswaran MbCHB (UK), MRCGP (UK), FRACGP (Australia)

What is your story?
I was born and raised in the UK where I completed by medical degree and qualified as a GP. I arrived in Perth in 2019 where I am currently practicing as a GP.

Why skin?
As I have gotten older, I have become more aware of how our skin changes and how less forgiving it can be. I find it’s something everyone takes for granted. I have also witnessed how much the quality of our skin can affect confidence. I now recognise the importance of nourishing our skin in order to maintain our youthful looks and enjoy passing this knowledge onto others.

Favourite skin treatment?
I personally love sonophoresis infusions. The ultrasound waves help nourishing products penetrate deeper into the dermal layer of the skin making them more effective. It is a great boost to the skin adding to the healthy glow.
